The sight of little Tesoro, wet and covered in thick mud, dumped like garbage, broke our hearts. A lady who found him noticed the trash bag move and we were all shocked to find a puppy inside. We don’t know where his mother or siblings are, but we knew we had to do something to save this little life.
Tesoro is now safe at Maria’s shelter, receiving urgent care. We got the mud cleaned off him, but he was still too weak. The doctor discovered that Tesoro was missing his right ear flap, and dirt had entered his ear, posing a risk of infection to his brain. He had to stay in a special room for the next 48 hours, being monitored closely.
Tesoro is just a baby, only about a week and a half old. There were not many medicines available due to his small size and delicate state, but he was still fighting off a bad bacterial infection. Unfortunately, his right eye was badly injured and had to be removed. His left eye was not affected but was monitored closely.
After 48 hours, Tesoro showed signs of improvement. The dirt was removed, and luckily there was no injury to little Tesoro. His eye socket also recovered well, and after 72 hours, he was able to stand up a bit. He slept well, and his wound started healing.
There is still a long way to go, but Tesoro is no longer in critical danger. We are determined to fight together with Tesoro and give him a new life full of love. The journey of recovery will not be easy, but we are committed to being by his side every step of the way.
This experience reminds us of the importance of compassion and kindness towards animals in need. We are grateful to have the opportunity to be a part of Tesoro’s journey, and we know that he will bring joy and happiness to whoever is fortunate enough to adopt him in the future.
